Construction on the Cardwell Collaborative began in February 2015 and the MCA Tech Park, Inc. is proud to report the project is on-schedule and on-budget. Owner Architect Contractor meetings are held weekly at the job site with the construction management team and senior management from the MCA. Since construction began in February, 36 piers (72 feet deep and 42 inches in diameter) were drilled on the pad site. The building concrete pad has been poured and the columns for the first and second floors have been formed and poured. Second story concrete floors have been formed and poured, making the Cardwell Collaborative now visible from 1-10.
Coordination between all the utility companies has been completed and water and water lines have been installed. Final selections have been made on furniture, lab casework and lab equipment. Completion is expected in May 2016. Future tenants include MCA and RedSky organizations, Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center at El Paso and various early-stage incubator companies.
